Description

This is a new role and will be a key and strategic appointment at Executive level and would suit financial and metric driven candidates.
This position will report to the CEO and assume responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operating activities, including revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management.
The remit includes the following:
• As a true business partner to the CEO, manage and run the day-to-day operations, delivering development milestones within budget and in line with the company’s long term strategy
• Manage all supplier relations, with specific emphasis on recommending, managing and delivering out-sourced projects on time, to specification and within budget. Establish and ensure adherence to SLA’s.
• Direct company operations to meet budget and other financial goals.
• Direct short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
• Establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for senior management.
• Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for company products and services.
• Direct and participate in acquisition and growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans
• The Candidate must be a strong people manager and motivator with an ability to drive productivity at all levels.
Requirements:
• Candidates will come with a proven track record in at senior Operations or Finance level. The ideal profile requires a candidate from an IT/Technology/Logistics industry experience.
• A finance or accounting background would be an advantage. This role may suit candidates wishing to transition from a specific financial role to one with more general duties.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, facilitation and problem resolution skills are essential as well as acute financial skills and operational skills.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong evidence of being adept at assessing customer needs, creating ideal solutions, and influencing appropriate courses of action. The ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and monitoring processes is a pre-requisite to success in the role.
• Embracing the positive team based culture, the selected candidate will enjoy working in an open and supportive working environment.
• University degree in a technical or business discipline
• Strong business alignment skills from Director level down. Proven ability to translate complex projects to succinct business messages gaining engagement and endorsement from business.
• Candidates must have excellent attention to detail & metric driven
• Superior decision making skills and an ability to influence and present across all levels of an organisation.
• Experience in the digital publishing or eBook industry an advantage
