EBSCO and Baratz Partner to Enhance Library Discovery in Spain

A new partnership between EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Spanish ILS editor,Baratz, will expand services to discovery customers in Spain and other markets, specifically Latin America and France. The collaboration will enable tightly-integrated access between EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and Baratz’s flagship ILS, absysnet. Baratz is one of the largest worldwide ILS vendors with more than 25 years of experience and solutions in more than 25 countries.

Baratz Director of Libraries Division, Carlos Martínez Gallo, says the joint venture between EBSCO and Baratz will enable libraries to take advantage of the benefits of the two technology platforms.”We believe that this partnership will allow us to offer our customers the best of both tools and services with a seamless user experience. Libraries are requesting more and more tools and services that enable them to offer the best of both worlds, digital and analog, in an integrated and efficient way. With our cooperation, we can help libraries achieve this.”

By partnering with some of the most popular ILS vendors, EBSCO gives libraries ultimate choice when it comes to how they serve their patrons. With the option of using either EBSCO Discovery Service or a library’s current catalog user interface as the front end, EBSCO’s ILS partnerships allow libraries to take advantage of the benefits of both services. Through these partnerships, mutual customers will get better, easier access to the databases, journals, conference proceedings, magazines, newspapers, e-books, images, videos and other resources their libraries provide.
