IOP Publishing introduces free ethics statement checker to support authors and speed up the submission process

IOP Publishing (IOPP) has partnered with TaskAdept, a leader in improving publication ethics by driving forward standards of ethics and data statements with a free online ethics statement generation tool: EthicsGen.

The tool supports authors to create correctly worded ethics statements to speed submissions through peer review and match the statement criteria of an author’s journal of choice, freeing precious time to concentrate on research. The statements will make it easier for reviewers to read and assess the content.

Kim Eggleton, head of peer review and research integrity at IOPP says: “Responding to the needs of the scientific community lies at the heart of everything we do. EthicsGen will enhance the publishing experience for our authors, reviewers and readers, increase efficiency and speed, and supports our commitment to deliver the highest integrity standards. We are excited about this new partnership and will continue to seek collaborations like this to optimise the experience for our authors.”

Andrew Walker, director at TaskAdept says: “We’re delighted to provide EthicsGen to researchers publishing with IOPP and to support research integrity by creating complete and accurate ethics statements. Authors are increasingly required to provide in-depth information when submitting their articles, including ethics statements. This can be a daunting task, especially for non-native English-speaking authors. EthicsGen ensures that all ethics related information is captured for the study including institutional approval or waivers, participant consent, and clinical trial registration.”

EthicsGen for IOP is freely available to all authors at ethicsgen.taskadept.com/iop

EthicsGen is enabled by the Carina Workflow Intelligence platform that also includes Workflow Assist for powerful process automation.
