Portland Press selects The Charlesworth Group for author services support

Portland Press Limited has partnered with Charlesworth Author Services to provide Portland Press’ global biosciences author community with English language editing and publication support services through English and Chinese local-language web portals. Portland Press is the wholly owned publishing subsidiary of the Biochemical Society and publishes both journals and books in cellular and molecular life sciences. Charlesworth currently provide Portland Press with sales representation in China.

Supporting the global biosciences research community

The Charlesworth Group and Portland Press launched two new co-branded portals in July 2020 with the aim of providing accessible English language editing and support services for Portland Press’ community of authors. These co-branded author services portals are available in Chinese (https://www.cwauthors.com.cn/portlandpress) and English (https://www.cwauthors.com/portlandpress).

By providing this service to its authors, Portland Press seeks to drive higher quality article submissions to its seven journals, increase the chance of publication acceptance and introduce workflow efficiencies into its peer review processes. Portland Press’ China-based authors will also receive the benefit of being able to self-check the progress of the language editing of their paper in the Charlesworth system via their own personal WeChat accounts.

The Charlesworth Group’s CEO, Michael Evans, comments:

Charlesworth Author Services is delighted that Portland Press Limited has chosen to partner with us to provide editing and publication support tools to their global scientific author community that will improve the quality of their research output and speed up the publication process.”

The Chair of the Portland Press Board, Professor Richard Reece, adds:

Advancing molecular bioscience through the publication and dissemination of high-quality scientific research is a key objective for us. We are committed to supporting our author community and this new language editing service is part of a portfolio of resources we offer to help researchers communicate their work as effectively as possible.”
