ResearchGate and American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) announce new Journal Home partnership for Science Partner Journals

ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific society, today announced a new partnership that will see all AAAS Science Partner Journals benefit from enhanced visibility and reach through ResearchGate’s new Journal Home offering.

AAAS, a leading publisher of cutting-edge research renowned for its Science family of journals, launched its Science Partner Journal (SPJ) program in 2017. Consisting of 14 high-quality, fully open access journals produced in collaboration with international research institutions, foundations, funders, and societies, the SPJ program will now expand its reach through Journal Home on ResearchGate. With Journal Home, all version-of-record content from the 14 SPJs will be available to researchers on ResearchGate, including all archive content, and all new articles on publication. Reading usage data will be consistently provided to AAAS via COUNTER-compliant reporting that can be included in institutional usage reporting, providing increased value for institutional customers.

ResearchGate will create dedicated journal profiles on the platform that will be prominently featured on all associated articles and touchpoints on ResearchGate, significantly boosting the visibility of these titles with highly relevant authors and readers.

Authors of articles in the SPJs will enjoy the added benefit of having their content automatically added to their profiles on ResearchGate. This gives authors access to statistics showcasing the impact of their work, and provides a unique opportunity for them to connect with their readers. Additionally, potential authors will be able to seamlessly explore publishing opportunities across the SPJs through their new journal profiles. By increasing the visibility of these titles with ResearchGate’s researcher audience, AAAS will support its mission to communicate science broadly and for the benefit of all people.

“The AAAS is the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific societies, and we are delighted to embark on this new partnership with them,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “ResearchGate’s unique researcher ecosystem brings the SPJs directly to where researchers are engaging, ensuring greater reach and visibility for the journals and their content. This is the beginning of a strong and meaningful partnership, and I’m excited to see what the future brings.”

“AAAS is pleased to be working with ResearchGate to offer Journal Home to the Science Partner Journals” said Chris Reid, Director of Product and Publishing Development at AAAS. “This is an innovative additional service to our partners that will further the brand of the SPJs, as well as supporting our partners and authors with insights from ResearchGate’s broad researcher audience.”
