Wolters Kluwer Health Announces eBook Promotion That Saves Medical Residency Programs a “Bundle”

Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information and point-of-care solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced the “Buy a Bundle, Save a Bundle” promotion that allows residency programs to receive significant savings when they purchase multiple medical reference titles.  Savings up to 40 percent off the regular price are applied when two or more titles in a specialty are purchased as a “bundle.”  The promotion is offered to all AMA and osteopathic residency program administrators and includes more than 100 Wolters Kluwer Health print and eBook offerings in 20 different specialty areas.

“We first tested this promotion last spring in three specialty areas with great success and now have expanded it to all specialties where we have a critical mass of resources for medical residents,” said Lisa Zoks, Marketing Director, Medical Practice, Professional & Education, Wolters Kluwer Health.  “Often a residency program director will purchase multiple titles at one time for a new class of incoming residents.  This promotion allows directors to create customized collections of our eBook/print bundles that meet their very specific needs while reaping considerable cost savings for their programs.”

Some of the most popular specialty areas include anesthesiology, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, radiology and oncology.  In anesthesiology, for example, there are many trusted reference resources available including Barash: Clinical Anesthesia, 7e; Dorsch: Understanding Anesthesia Equipment, 5e; and Jaffe: Anesthesiologist’s Manual of Surgical Procedures, 5e, to name a few.

All of the 2014 Medical Practice print titles, other than pocket medicine books, are automatically bundled with eBooks powered by Inkling™ — allowing residents to download titles to tablets or smartphones with many interactive multimedia features.  The eBooks offer customized navigation and a powerful, index-based search capability to provide quick results using iPad, iPhone, Android devices or through a computer browser.  All titles are available on various eBook platforms without the Inkling features such as Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, and with select titles also available on VitalSource.

All of the customizable collections are sold directly to residency programs.  Residency program directors, program coordinators and chief residents can learn more about the “Buy a Bundle” program or purchase by visiting the LWW website or by contacting their Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Practice sales representative.  For more information, visit www.LWW.com.
