ALPSP appoints Chief Executive

ALPSP is delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Sime as its new permanent Chief Executive. Wayne joined ALPSP as Interim Chief Executive in October 2018.

ALPSP Chairman Peter Ashman commented: “Wayne has made a massive impact over recent months and has built an excellent rapport with the team. He’s introduced several initiatives and we feel very confident that Wayne and the team will make ALPSP an even more significant and relevant organization which represents the interests of our wide range of members whilst securing a sustainable financial future. We look forward to working with Wayne and to seeing the success he brings to ALPSP”.

Wayne Sime, ALPSP Chief Executive added: “I am delighted that I have been made permanent. Previously, I was Director of Library Services for the Royal Society of Medicine. I have also worked within the NHS and financial sector. Since 2001, I have been a Chartered Librarian, and in 2009 I became a Fellow of CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals). I am very much looking forward to realising ALPSP potential to expand and grow, in order that we continue to be a vibrant and relevant network, serving people within the scholarly communications community”.

Niamh O’Connor, Director, Global Journals Development, PLOS and Chair-Elect, ALPSP Council commented: “I am looking forward to working with Wayne to enable ALPSP to support and represent our members and wider community”.
