Under the headline “10 Topics, 10 Books, 10 Weeks”, De Gruyter celebrates its 10th open access book anniversary and invites scientists and scholars globally to submit their book projects for OA publication. The 10 winning titles will be published in 2021 by De Gruyter in OA without any author publication fees to support the development of open research.
Researchers planning to publish a monograph in 2021 are encouraged to submit their proposal and draft manuscript to the publisher for review in the 10-week period from October 5, 2020 to December 21, 2020. Following a preliminary selection, an independent and interdisciplinary jury of experts will select the best titles in the second quarter of 2021. The winning titles will then be published in open access – making the research free to read, use and adapt worldwide.
With this prize, De Gruyter celebrates the 10 year anniversary of its first open access book publication. In 2010, De Gruyter published theHandbuch Bibliothek 2.0, its first open access book. Since then, the publishing house has developed into one of the world’s largest open access book publishers with over 3.000 open access books available on degruyter.com.
“We aim to further promote the development of open access books together with our partners and we encourage research institutions, organizations, scientists and scholars to share this call. We and the jury look forward to receiving many exciting proposals to celebrate together with our authors a decade of OA book publishing,” says Emily Poznanski, Director Strategy at De Gruyter.
