Intellect partners with Kudos to improve circulation and increase impact

Kudos is well known for its expertise in accelerating and broadening readership of scholarly publications, so they were the obvious choice, says Managing Director Mark Lewis

Kudos, the award-winning service for accelerating research impact, has today announced a new partnership with Intellect, the independent academic publisher in the fields of creative practice and popular culture. Intellect has partnered with Kudos as part of its strategy to improve the reach and impact of its books and journals. Intellect authors will benefit from metadata integrations, streamlined processes for summarizing their work, additional features and guidance for sharing their work, and publisher support for and amplification of their efforts. Through the Kudos dashboard, Intellect gains access to deeper knowledge about its authors and their publishing activities and networks, together with a rich behavioural dataset to help track trends in researcher sharing and communication activities.

Mark Lewis, Managing Director of Intellect, explains the publisher’s decision to partner with Kudos: “As a fiercely independent publisher, we pride ourselves on offering the best possible service for our authors. We do this in part by seeking out best-in-class partners, whose specialist focus means our authors can quickly benefit from a proven approach. Kudos is well known for its expertise in accelerating and broadening readership of scholarly publications, so they were the obvious choice when we were looking to expand our capabilities in this area.”

“With their focus on ‘original thinking’, Intellect and its authors are a great fit for Kudos,” adds Colin Caveney, Head of Business Development at Kudos. “It can sometimes be harder for less mainstream scholarship to find its audience, but our past performance shows the benefits of a structured, collaborative approach to communication. We look forward to helping Intellect and its authors continue widening the debate in a range of subject areas.”
