Research Square Announces Rachel Burley as President

    Research Square, a mission-driven business focused on supporting researchers with publication, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Burley as President, effective September 16, 2019.

    Rachel Burley has spent more than eighteen years in senior roles in the publishing industry and joins Research Square from Springer Nature, where she was VP and Publishing Director for the BMC Group of journals before becoming VP Open Publishing Innovations in 2019.  Prior to that, Rachel served as VP Open Access at Wiley. 

    In her new role, Burley will oversee both the newly launched Research Square preprint platform and American Journal Experts (AJE).  She will report to Shashi Mudunuri, Founder and CEO of Research Square.

    Springer Nature is partner to Research Square as part of its strategy to expand researcher services, most recently through In Review, a unique new author service powered by the Research Square platform. Since 2016, Springer Nature has made multiple investments in Research Square’s initiatives as part of its focus on serving researchers as a core market.
