SAGE has begun a partnership with the Psychological Society of South Africa, (PsySSA) to publish its flagship journal the South African Journal of Psychology. The rigorously peer-reviewed journal is dedicated to publishing empirical, theoretical and review articles that focus on South African, African and international issues. The journal will be published four times a year.

Publishing contributions in English covering all fields of psychology, the South African Journal of Psychology is the flagship journal for South Africa addressing psychological issues of social change and development. Whilst the emphasis is on empirical research, the journal also accepts theoretical and methodological papers, review articles, short communications, reviews and letters containing balanced commentary.

“SAGE has a well-established global publishing programme in psychology and we are delighted to welcome this flagship title”, said Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE. “We see clear synergies between SAGE and the PsySSA in promoting rigorous research and encouraging the application of these findings. We look forward to developing this partnership and supporting the journal’s core offering to the psychology community in southern Africa as well as globally.”

“SAGE is well known for its core strengths as a publisher for the psychology community. Alongside its strong international presence, these are accolades which we look forward to benefitting from during our partnership,” commented Professor Anthony Pillay, editor. “The journal plays a key role in our mission to advance South African psychology as a science and profession of global stature. We believe that SAGE’s commitment to publish high quality international research is closely aligned with our publishing goal and we look forward to developing a successful future together.”
