The Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine launched in 1987 and has an Impact Factor of 2.224. The official publication of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the journal’s research advances veterinary medical knowledge and improve the lives of animals by publishing authoritative scientific articles of animal diseases.

“As Wiley is one of the world’s leading open access publishers we feel confident that these journals will go from strength to strength under an open access model,” said Rachel Burley, Wiley Vice President and Director, Open Access. “This will bring our total up to eleven journals that have successfully converted from subscription to open access. As established journals in their field, they will offer their authors maximum reach, impact and quality and we are very pleased that they have joined the Wiley Open Access publishing program.”

All three journals are now accepting submissions, which will be published open access from January 2015 under a Creative Commons License.  As part of the Wiley Open Access publishing program, authors, their funding agencies, or their institutions can pay an Article Publication Charge (APC), to ensure that the article is made available to non-subscribers upon publication via Wiley Online Library. Funders and Institutions can pay via a Wiley Open Access Account and also simplify the management of their open access funds by using the Account Dashboard .
