UBP Open Books releases first OA title – Grow and Evolve Your Business

UBP Open Books, the new Open Access imprint of University of Buckingham Press, has released its first title: Grow and Evolve Your Business edited by Jonathan Reuvid and including a host of high profile contributors.

The title evaluates how the legacy of the Covid pandemic coupled with the after-effects of Brexit on trade and supply chains and rising energy costs have compounded business leaders’ problems. Contributors approach these important issues from two directions.

Part one focuses on the development of entrepreneurial skills and tools for growth generation. This includes a dissertation on the severe cybersecurity risks which impact all growing businesses on a daily basis.

Part two reminds us of management fundamentals and the threats that can trip us up and ambush corporate growth. New business owners and managers need to take this advice on board and managers of established businesses are invited to take the time to revisit current practice. The book offers directions through which companies can ‘build back better.’

Contributors include Grant Thornton LLP, Whitespace and Innovators Highway, Basck, Buckingham Enterprise and Innovation Unit, Carrie de Silva, Tessa Advisory Services, Howman Solicitors, Hunters Law LLP, Boolean Logical, May Figures Limited and patentGate GmbH.

UBP Open Books is the open access monograph imprint of the University of Buckingham Press. It features new titles published on a “gold Open Access basis”, meaning the online edition of a publication is available to be read, downloaded and shared for free, as long as the author is credited. The imprint will utilise a under a CC-BY-NC licence, which limits use to non-commercial contexts, to ensure all digital editions are available equally and openly to a global audience.

UBP Open Books has also launched a new online platform on which to host its Open Access books, with text available as fully readable and downloadable PDFs.

As part of its new books strategy, the UBP Open Books imprint will run in tandem with its commissioned books list. The press is also looking at ways to move a number of backlist titles across to its Open Access list.

UBP Open Books will consider any Open Access proposals around its core subjects, which include education, business and economics, cyber security, medicine, humanities and social sciences. All Open Access book publications will be peer-reviewed and for content accepted for publication, book publication or chapter publication charges may apply, depending on whether the type of publication or if it is a single or multi-author publication.
