SPIE announces read and publish agreement with Delft University of Technology

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, is pleased to announce a new open access agreement with the Netherlands’ Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). The agreement began on 1 July 2021.

For TU Delft, a long-time subscriber to the SPIE Digital Library, this agreement adds open access publishing in SPIE journals for all affiliated primary and contact authors to the university’s existing subscription. The SPIE Digital Library includes more than 530,000 journal papers, proceedings, and conference presentations, covering topical areas from biomedical optics and neuroscience to physics and astronomy-related technology.

“Transformative agreements on a fair and sustainable base are part of TU Delft’s Open Science commitments,” said Publishing Advisor at TU Delft Library Just de Leeuwe. “Working with SPIE to secure this deal helps us achieve our ambition to reach 100 percent open access.”

“Adding open access publishing to TU Delft’s longstanding subscription to SPIE journals and proceedings gives the university’s authors greater visibility,” said SPIE International Sales and Subscriptions Manager Andy Wallis. “SPIE is excited to enhance its partnership with TU Delft, and, in doing so, to expand the global reach of TU Delft’s authors and their research.”
