ConTech 2021 will be taking place on the 16th & 17th November as a hybrid event, both in person and virtually. We are excited to be opening our call for speakers with the option of submitting based on either being onsite or online.

The information industry faces stark choices in order to stay relevant in markets that are being disrupted by rapid technological and business model changes. In an industry that was already grappling with these the global pandemic has accelerated the pace of this change.

The London Book Fair 2021 will go ahead as a digital only event, creating opportunities for the publishing industry to meet online, following the impact of the global pandemic. The in-person format will return next year to its usual Spring dates of April 5-7 2022.

CCC principal consultant Ian Synge will ask “How can publishers use knowledge graphs to overcome their data management challenges?” He will explore how knowledge graphs can solve pressing challenges such as discovering emerging topics, recruiting authors, detecting possible conflicts of interest, performing competitive research and building a long-term network.

Publishers can now register for the 73rd Frankfurter Buchmesse (20–24 October 2021). Dedicated to the topic “re:connect”, this year’s book fair is planned as an in-person event with additional digital formats, and can be flexibly adapted to pandemic-related developments.
